THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS | MATTHEW 25

The Parable of the Talents found in Matthew 25 describes a man who goes on a journey, entrusting his servants with his wealth and possessions in his absence. Join us this week as Pastor Ben takes a deep dive into the parable, and explores how investing what God has entrusted us with can reveal how we view Him.

  1. Does God seem incredibly generous or stingy and demanding? How does your view of your Master – God – impact your ability to serve well?

  2. What has God given you to “put to work” for his kingdom?

  3. What kind of growth is God looking for in his kingdom? What does it look like for you to put your talents to work to see that happen?

  1. Have you ever left home on bad terms? What was it like to come back?

  2. How do you respond to God running to embrace you before you can even apologize or promise to do better?

  3. Do you need to come home? How can you receive the Father’s love today?


The Parable of Two Sons | Part Two: The Older Brother | WEEK 4

Religious people can easily lean into judgementalism, unforgiveness, anger, ingratitude, etc. In the story of the Prodigal Son, Jesus includes the story of the older brother in his response to the Father’s welcome of his brother’s return. Join us this weekend as Pastor Marvin looks at the older brother and the heart of the Father who longs for relationship with both sons.

  2. What is your attitude toward those who break God’s law, who don’t deserve God’s favour?

  2. How can keeping score of your own sins prevent you from simply receiving God’s grace?

  3. How do you respond when you see others receive God’s grace or blessing? Are you comparing what you’ve received or simply glad for God’s generosity?
