PART TIME | Custodian

This part-time custodian position at Elim Church Saskatoon Inc. is more than a job: in most ways it is a ministry. Accordingly, we want a person in this position who has a heart for ministry, an individual with a servant heart.

  • The following are the minimum qualifications for the position of custodian. The custodian must have the ability to:

    • Work amiably, amicably, and co-operatively with a good attitude with all age groups of the congregation of Elim Church, as well as the volunteers, pastors, and staff.

    • Manage one’s own time to accomplish the tasks assigned by the Head Custodian to have the building ready for services, activities, and events.

    • Operate and maintain cleaning and polishing equipment, lawn mowers, snow removal equipment, and other necessary equipment.

    • Move tables, chairs, furniture, and other heavy items as required; and

    • Remove snow from the sidewalks and parking lot as required.

FULL TIME | KIDS MINISTRY SUMMER EMPLOYEE

The Elim Kids team is hiring two (2) Summer Program Workers to join the Next Generation Department at Elim Church from June 21 to August 30, 2025.

Position: Summer Program Worker

Elim Church is seeking to fill two Government Funded Summer Career Placement Positions to work with our Children’s Ministry Team to assist in leading our summer programs and special summer events in our faith community.

    • Collaborate with the Next Generation Department to plan, lead, and coordinate summer Day Camps, Sunday morning programs, and special summer events.

    • Create and implement a volunteer recruitment program to strengthen engagement with children’s ministry.

    • Begin preparations for The Big Party and Christmas Play, ensuring these events are well-organized and ready for the upcoming season.

    The positions run from June 21 to August 30, 2025, with an expected workweek of 28-40 hours (depending on funding). The schedule typically includes Sundays to Thursdays with occasional Friday commitments.

    Work is based at Elim Church in Saskatoon.

  • The successful candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Be between 16 and 30 years old at the start of employment.

    • Clear a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.

    • Adhere to the teachings and core beliefs of Elim Church Saskatoon and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

    • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or hold refugee status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada under applicable provincial/territorial laws.

    • Personal faith in Christ and a passion for serving children in a ministry setting.

    • Strong teamwork, initiative, and self-motivation.

    • Previous experience working with children, teaching, program coordination, or volunteer supervision (an asset but not required).

    • Assist in planning and organizing events, including Day Camps, Sunday programs, and outdoor activities.

    • Recruit, process, train, schedule, and appreciate volunteers.

    • Implement and communicate children’s ministry curriculum.

    • Actively participate in children’s programs, including leading preschool and elementary classes.

    • Build relationships with children, volunteers and their families.

    • Support administrative tasks such as correspondence, record-keeping, and maintaining supplies and equipment.

    • Plan and execute two summer activities for kids and families.

    • Coordinate and run one week of Day Camp.

    • Ensure adherence to safety and security policies for children’s programs.

    • Attend team meetings and leadership mentoring sessions with Pastors Angela McDonald and Julie Hittinger.

FULL TIME SUMMER INTERNSHIP - ELIM YOUTH OUTREACH WORKER

Elim Church is seeking an enthusiastic and relational individual to serve as an Elim Youth Outreach Worker for the summer. This role focuses on building relationships with youth and families through dropins, camps, outreach events, and large church gatherings. The position is ideal for someone passionate about youth ministry, outreach, and creating fun, faith-centered experiences.

  • Summer Programs and Camps:  

    • Support and lead summer programs, including youth camps and drop-ins, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. 

    • Build relationships with youth during activities, fostering connections that encourage spiritual growth. 

    • Assist with logistics, including event set-up, activity coordination, and volunteer management. 

    Outreach Events:  

    • Help organize and execute outreach events to connect with youth in the broader community. 

    • Represent Elim Youth at community events, creating opportunities for relationship-building and inviting youth to church programming. 

    • Assist in the preparation of promotional materials and communications to engage families and youth. 

    Large Church Gatherings:  

    • Provide support for youth involvement in church-wide events, ensuring youth feel connected to the broader church community. 

    • Assist with special activities for youth during large gatherings, such as icebreakers or games. 

    General Ministry Support:  

    • Collaborate with the Youth Pastor to implement creative ideas that enhance Elim Youth programming. 

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with youth, leaders, and families. 

    • Support youth ministry logistics, including attendance tracking, event coordination, and volunteer scheduling. 

    Additional Skills and Development:  

    • Participate in regular team meetings and leadership development opportunities. 

    • Take initiative to learn about youth ministry strategies and community engagement. 

    • Gain hands-on experience in working with youth from diverse backgrounds and planning faithbased events.

  • Year Planning and Ministry Preparation:  

    • Collaborate with the Youth Pastor to develop and refine the annual plan and programming for the youth ministry. 

    • Assist in creating schedules, resources, and strategies for the upcoming year, including curriculum development and event planning. 

    • Provide input on leader development, discipleship strategies, and volunteer training. 

    • Contribute to the overall vision and strategy for Elim Youth by participating in brainstorming and planning sessions. 

    Sunday Morning Youth Programs:  

    • Take a leadership role in organizing and overseeing Sunday morning youth programs, ensuring an engaging and impactful experience. 

    • Coordinate teaching materials and assist in training and scheduling volunteers. 

    • Build meaningful relationships with youth and their families to foster spiritual growth and community engagement.
